Last year heading into the final week of the regular season, three of the divisions were already decided, and there were only five teams left vying for the remaining three playoff spots.
This year, only one of the divisions has been decided, and nine teams are scrambling to claim one of the remaining five playoff spots.
That's crazy.
Equally crazy is the Boy Scout Cyclone division. After John Scallon lost the absolute nail biter of a game between him and Jesse Anderson, 139.80 - 140.22, Andrew Gustin easily handling the Scrappers 134.76 - 103.50, Aaron Blubbernugget Nelson dropping a big game to Tanner Loren Ewoldt 124.58 - 129.22, and Chris Duncan being eliminated by Hunt in a 93.42 - 150.68 trouncing, it results in this:
Five distinct scenarios that could result in either Nelson, Gustin or Scallon winning the division. Of course Gustin has the best chance - all he has to do is win this week. But if he loses, then all Scallon has to do is win. But if they both lose, then we get into four separate tiebreaker scenarios that boil down to either Gustin or Nelson winning the division, which of course depends on whether or not Duncan and Nelson win this week.
Your head hurt yet? That makes two of us.
Big shoutout to Duncan, who put together a nasty group of receivers and helped make this year very interesting. Though none of the tiebreaker scenarios work out in your favor this year, your performance next week could be a determinant in who wins the division, and you're a top contender for the Consolations.
The epic DTDB showdown between Anton William Reiter & Jordan Richards was decidedly one-sided, with the Day Man ripping Richie's JV 138.30 - 80.28. Anton is still one game back, but should he win this week, and Richards lose, Anton will have the tiebreaker and win the division. Anton has the Twenty Deuce this week, while Richards has the GradyOO's.
In the CdS, the Game of the Week between the Night Man and Nickolas Hansen's missing bike seat went to the former, 123.36 - 111.50. The win for the Night Man means both teams will make the playoffs, but Week 13 will determine which of them wins the division and a bye week in the playoffs, and which is a mere wildcard. The Night Man has the Scallon Express, and Nickolas has Gustin's Free Prison Mike.
Elsewhere in the CdS, Curtis Alexander Guzman pounded the Freakshow, 142.10 - 81.92. Joseph Rhodes misses the playoffs for the first time in IFL history. Tough break, kid. Curtis keeps himself alive, and as fate would have it, plays the other 7-5 team, Ewoldt for a wildcard play-in game next week. This twist of fate means that Tanner Hunt is eliminated from the playoffs, despite winning his third straight game this week. The team was all there, is just couldn't ultimately overcome that 0-4 start. 2017, Hunt. 2017.
The BSC loses some ground to X-IA in the battle for top division, with one week to go.
Division Overall W-L:
BSC: 417-302
X-IA: 408-312
CdS: 344-375
DTDB: 270-450
Drew had some kind of sick clairvoyant vision this week, going 5 for 6 in Pick 'em, while almost no one did better getting 2 picks right (Scallon got 4.) This propels him into first, and gives him some cushion.
Pick 'Em Top 5:
Andrew - 31 (62%)
Curtis / Jesse - 28 (56%)
Zach - 27 (54%)
Nick - 23 (46%)

Ten teams remain in playoff contention, and four will be eliminated this week. What a time to be alive.
