As weird as this season’s been, nothing has felt weirder than a Wednesday afternoon game, but writing this on a Friday isn’t far off either. Our game of the week, which was resolved well before Wednesday, wasn’t close, with the Barium Bunch walloping Dumped by Hollie 182-132, but sets up one of the most interesting final week situations we’ve ever had in this league. Jack’s team has now secured a playoff position, but thanks to Jordan’s winning 6 straight, including this week in a HUGE win against TC 148-135, he remains one game back on Jack, and holding the tiebreaker, could still steal the division from him. Either way, Jord has secured a playoff spot.

But here’s where things get really interesting. Nick’s loss puts his team at 6-6. With NOSCOPE TRENT sniping Hunt this week 211-133, Curtis upsetting Brady 176-160, and Joe demoing Qualley 180-125, Zach & Curtis also move to 6-6, and Joe to 5-7, and there is a scenario where all four teams could finish the season 6-7. In that scenario, Joe and Curtis lose the tiebreakers, leaving Nick and yours truly, which would then be tiebroken by PPG. If Joe loses, and Curtis, Nick and your boy win, those three would all be 1-1 against each other, so it would again come down to PPG. Nick currently leads in PPG, and NOSCOPE TRENT is the only one that could likely surpass him, down 77 points on the season. Nick beat the Commish, and Curtis beat Nick, if it comes down to those tiebreakers.

So that’s the Cul-de-Sack. But what gets further interesting is the 2nd wildcard spot. And that all hinges on TC. All TC has to do is win, and he’s in. And playing Hunt this week, doesn’t seem too tall an order. But TC has only averaged 4 more PPG over the last four weeks, so we will see.

But waiting in the wings anxiously hoping for a Tanos the Mad Fantasy Owner loss, are SEVEN 6-6 teams, which is just unreal:

Austin, Curtis, Ewoldt, and yours truly have all lost to TC, so he’ll have some tiebreaker advantages in that event, but it’ll depend on the teams of course. Four of those seven play each other (NOSCOPE VS the DSM Football Team & Hypezone vs Dumped by Hollie), so that’ll eliminate some from the potential tiebreaker scenarios.

Despite Brady’s loss to Curtis, he holds two crucial tiebreakers, over Barium Bunch & PROFESSOR DISRESPECT, which means he has officially earned a highly sought after bye week as one of the top two seeds for the playoffs. All he can do now in the regular season is earn Regular Season Champ, which carries a $15 purse.

With the previously spoken of 6-6 bonanza, we have only four teams eliminated from playoff contention, with Jesse being the only one joining those ranks, this week after a rough loss to the Scallon Express. Jesse will look to avoid the Tournament to Not Be Last this week, but we mourn his death in the championship playoff race, as we do the death of his fabulous, rebellious rockers, and the sinking of their Pop Punk Pirate ship.

With just one week left to determine our top division this year, X-IA leads the CdS by four games, looking to finish the season as the top division for the first time in league history. If the CdS can overtake them, it would be their 4th title as top division in the league.

Division Overall W-L:
X-IA: 401-319
CdS: 397-323
DD&B: 354-366
BSC: 288-432

Qualley puts up a perfect week of pick ‘em and climbs to 2nd place, one point behind 2nd place. Pickers’ Consensus still leads the charge.
