One of the least dramatic IFL weekends in terms of closeness of matchups in terms of closeness of matchups, the narrowest matchup being Curtis’s Lot Lizards win over the Snyder Cut in the Consolation bracket 107 - 90, was quite dramatic in the NFL with 3 games being delayed due to COVID. With five games not being played on Sunday, Scott Hanson announced on the NFL Redzone channel that it was the least amount of touchdowns they had ever seen in the history of the channel.

All games were ultimately played out, and much to Ewoldt’s surprise, it wasn’t the lowest scoring week in IFL history. It wasn’t even the lowest scoring week this season - Weeks 9 & 10 were less offensive affairs than the quarterfinals.

From Dec 12th to Dec 16th the number of NFL players on the COVID list jumped from 35 to 175, and seemingly the team most impacted was the poor IFL Commissioner, as his top WR Tyler Lockett and top TE Tyler Higbee were two of the infected. Though the Rams/Seahawks game was moved to Tuesday to give them extra time to comeback, neither did. Clearly the 74-105 loss to the Blasters in the quarterfinals would have been a much different situation had TC BEING SO WEIRD ABOUT IT been 100%. The BLASTERS luck into the privilege of taking on Jord and the Real Slim Brady.

The other quarterfinal matchup between the Recker Rampage and Drew’s (F) Shak was not quite as low scoring, but Coach Jesse could get no production from his receiving corps as his three WRs and two TEs combined for a mere 11.9 points, and that just doesn’t cut it in the playoffs. Drew will make it to the semifinals for the 4th time in his tenure and will be playing the tournament favorite GROOVERS in the semi’s.

Probably the biggest shock of the week is that Brady’s ALL-TIME D has avoided heading to his 2nd IFL Loserbowl, by upsetting Aaron the Badassmailman 117 - 89 thanks to yet another ridiculous Cooper Kupp performance. On the other side of the Tournament to Not Be Last, Qualley’s 133 points were plenty to shutter the Scallon Express, which sets up the Aaron and Scallon matchup to determine who the 2021 IFL Loser of the Year is.
