The streets run red with blood that has a higher content of Doritos dust than anyone in America in Week 10, as Scallon exacts his revenge over Herzog. What was thought to be a tossup was very much not, as two savant level pickups from Scallon, Daniel Jones (30.8 pts) and James Washington (18 pts) help separate what was otherwise thought to be an even match between the two scoring leaders in this season, Cook & McCaffrey. Those brilliant pickups led the Express to a 153 - 105 blowout over the Hufflepuff Badgers, and Scallon moves to 7-3. Herzog falls to 6-4.
Drew and his god dang Brett’s Regrets score the most points in the league for the 3rd time this season, in their devastating win over Curtis, 158 - 112, and Aaron gets yet another “defensive victory”, beating Ewoldt 119 - 102, which mean the Boy Scout Cyclones remain in their stalemated 3-way tie at 7-3 with Scallon. Drew holds the tiebreaker between those 3 for the division, but Scallon and Aaron are both leading the wildcard race at this point, so it’s possible that they could all make the playoffs. Ewoldt’s loss to Aaron means that he is eliminated from playoff contention, and this becomes one of those seasons where the hype just didn’t amount to much.
Joining Ewoldt in the black oblivion that is playoff elimination, the 2018 IFL Loser of the Year, Brady could not come up with a win to stay alive against Papa Jord, losing 93 - 105. Brady is slipping further into what could possibly be back-to-back calendar shoots, which I don’t think anyone would mind. Jord’s win over Brady moves him to 7-3, and with Herzog’s loss, “Better Players” are now in control of the Dirty Doc & the Boys. TC clutched one out against Joe, 125-116, and remains one game back, now tied with Herzog at 6-4.
The Cul-de-Sack gets more intriguing, as the Bucknaked Bradys get a win over the Handlebar Enthusiasts 117 - 98, and the more miraculously, Braut10’s lucky team upset Nick, 114-106, after benching #3 overall draft pick Patrick Mahomes (30 pts) for Derek Carr (13 pts), and being down 34 points headed in MNF, Chris Carson and the Seahawks DEF put up 43 points, and bailed out their asleep at wheel head coach. The loss for Nick means that he falls to 5-5 and is now only one game up in the CdS over the Rhodes bros, and only 3 games up over Curtis, who at 2-8, can still win the division believe it or not.
Jesse’s fun run is further spoiled with back-to-back losses, and ironically it’s the co-owner of the 8-0 record start, Tony to knock him down another peg, 119-89. Jesse had Hopkins & Chark on bye, and Conner was out, but nevertheless it opens the door to his bye week spot being in jeopardy, with four teams being one game behind him. The win was big for Tony too, who looks to escape the bottom four teams for the season.
The Boy Scout Cyclones have another big week and add to their lead as top division. The Cul-de-Sack gets to within one game of X-IA in the battle for 3rd.
Division Overall W-L:
BSC: 359-241
DD&B: 340-260
X-IA: 251-349
CdS: 250-350
Curtis and Nick add to their lead over the next closest picker, Jesse. Drew and Jord go 4 for 5 this week.
Just 3 weeks left, and 13 teams still in the hunt. Let’s go.
