First thing’s first. Give it up for the only 16-team era squad to score 200 points. Bravo Jord. 🙏🙏🙏 With Gurley, Mixon, Boyd, and Mack combining for 120 pts, 60 pts from his other 5 players and another 23 from Thielen on Monday Night put him in historic territory. Jesse, of course, put up a respectable 140 point game, which is all any man can reasonably ask of his team, but when you’re playing Bows n’ Hoes, that’s just not gonna cut it. I mean, the man is now averaging 159 points per game. RIP everyone else.
Speaking of everyone else, here’s something weird. Take a look at the standings. No 4-4 teams. All the 4-win teams won and all the 3-win teams lost. Joining the 3-win team ranks: Scallon, Chris and Brat10, who all have back to back wins. Scallon’s win came in super-clutch, against the perpetual underdogs, Curtis and the IFL STARS, 130-128. Brat10 also hung on to a victory over yours truly, winning 148-142. And Chris won handily over Brady, 122-92, whose team is in shambles. Big wins from all three coaches to keep their seasons alive. Of the six 3-5 teams, it’s hard to think that at least one of them won’t have serious shot at the playoffs.
Fortunately for Jesse, the Hype Zone lost its 2nd game in a row in its big matchup with the reigning champ, Barry Manilow’s Big Finishers. Hype scored a season-low 93 points, 31 points lower than he’d scored all season. Zeke and Keenan on bye will do that to you. But the Doctor didn’t care about that, and his 108 points were enough to keep him in a tie for the DD&B.
TC & Joe both won this week to go to 5-3, TC hammering Anton 167-111, and Joe wrecking Drew, in a pretty big upset, 127-84. They both remain very relevant in the wildcard discussion, but are also one game back in their respective divisions.
More major matchups to come in Week 9, as the playoff scenarios get more dire.
CdS has a great week and moves up to #2. DD&B still way out in front.
Division Overall W-L:
DD&B: 310-170
CdS: 235-245
X-IA: 228-252
BSC: 187-293
Drew manages to correctly pick the slight upset of Jack over Ewoldt as well as the major upset of Scallon over Curtis, going 4 for 4. Anton, who went 4 for 4 last week, lays a goose egg.
See you out there.
