Highest Scoring Team ($15)
Scallon Express
Coach Scallon
150.28 pts

(Scallon also had the highest scoring player, Kareem Hunt - 45.60 pts, but as you can only win one weekly award per week, that award falls to T-Hunt).

Highest Scoring Player ($7.50)
The Trailer Trash Troopers
Coach Hunt
Antonio Brown - 29.20 pts

While this week's opening NFL games weren't quite as exciting as last year's, the IFL had enough entertainment value on its own merit.

Two of the top four scoring teams had one of their top draft picks go down early, and still put up impressive points.

Scallon's Allen Robinson (4th round pick) is out for the season with an ACL tear, but thanks to a 45.60 performance from Kareem Hunt and solid performances from Thielen, Rivers and Howard, the Express put up a league-high 150.28 pts, and crushed Duncan, who put up a lackluster 75.48 pt effort.

Nelson, who lost David Johnson mid-game, and who is now out for 2-3 months, still managed to put 122.54 pts, and left a whopping 41.5 pts on the bench, thanks to stellar performances from Diggs, Gillislee, & Wentz. Diggs allowed him to complete his Monday night comeback over the Nut Grabbing 9 Year Olds, who put up 99.96 pts. Joseph's squad just couldn't get a firm enough grasp.

Our Game of the Week took an interesting turn after Jordan's #1 Birds of War lost Mike Evans to the hurricane, and proceeded to get disappointing performances from Tavon Austin and Mike Wallace, who both up less than 2 pts. Ewoldt started off hot and heavy with a 27 pt game from Tyreek Hill and pulled away with Dak's solid Sunday Night performance of 17.12, winning 119.24 - 100.32. With Brady's squad losing a nailbiter to Jesse & Helm's Deep Archery Club, 86.42 - 94.26, it appears Brady's Bench is off to a better start than Brady's starters. Jesse's win was quite fortunate, as only 3 teams in the league posted a lower score. The #3 power-ranked team should be tougher to beat in the future.

With an average team score of 108.35, it was the second lowest scoring week in IFL history. A record 7 teams scored less than 100 pts. The all-time low still belongs to Week 11 of 2015, with an average team score of 106.87.

I have a feeling we'll see some big scores next week, as the first week jitters get weeded out, and the bench players that went off will now get a chance to shine in Week 2.

Dirty Doc & The Boys do their best to erase last year's last place performance with a solid start in Week 1. The BSC was the top overall division last year, and all-time.

Division Overall W-L:

DD&B: 37-23
CdS: 31-29
BSC: 29-31
X-IA: 23-37

The usual suspects lead the first round of Pick 'Em Polls. The poll that tripped most up this week was the Battle of the Mathematical Geniuses. Hunt was favored by pickers 9 - 6, despite having the lower power ranking, but that didn't stop Herzog from clutching it out 120.56 - 112.96.

Chris Duncan is the reigning Pick 'Em Champion in case you'd somehow forgotten.
