Annnnnnnnnnnd… football is BACK, baby! So hyped, my debilitating week one loss doesn’t hurt as much as it should. 😬
As the experts and coaches alike predicted, the Scallon Express is a FORCE, led by the #2 overall pick, Christian McCaffrey and his 41.90 pt performance and another 45 combined from Wentz & Cooper, easily besting the lackluster Hype Zone in the first week, who scored a league low, 75.66, making for a snoozefest Game of the Week.
McCaffrey, the only white guy to score in the top 10, was bested by none other than Sammy Watkins, whose 3 TDs led Brat10, along with 27 from Mahomes and 44 combined from Carson and Jeffery, to 157 points, and $15, but still only narrowly defeated Brady, thanks to 4 PAT’s from Fairbairn in the first game last night. Brady’s 155 points were the 3rd most this week, and his lineup of Brady, Zeke, Henry, Thielen, Delanie “Big Worm” Walker, and Larry “GOAT” Fitzgerald can do some serious work and are a force to be reckoned with, hoping to earn back their coaches relevancy and credibility. Brat10’s pre-season rank of 14th made his high score this week a surprise, but that fantasy for you.
Another surprise was Nick’s team, who scored within 1/2 a point of Brat10, and was pre-season ranked 12th. His trio of Hopkins, John Brown, and DeSean Jackson put up 90 and edged out division rival Joe, who accomplished a respectable 128.6 points, but left almost 40 points on the bench. Look out for him in Week 2. Nick was the only survivor of the Cul-de-Sack this week.
TC’s Don’t Mess With the Zoquon looks as good as expected, but not from his namesake so much, but Lamar Jackson and Austin Ekeler combining for 72 points, easily destroying a injury riddled Curtis-coached squad, 147-100.
The reigning champ looked amazing, what’s new. (Sorry Tony.)
Jack and Aaron get quiet, but respectable wins over myself and Hunt. Welcome back Hunt!
When I went to sleep last night, I thought last year’s runner up, Papa Jord had it in the bag, but the Broncos came back via Sanders, and the Raiders pounded the ball Josh Jacobs, leading Jesse to a 115 - 97 comeback, making him the only X-IA team to get a victory.
A great start to the IFL season. Now, I just wish it was Sunday again.
Last year’s top division, by a wide margin, Dirty Doc & the Boys are off to a hot start, going 3-1 as a division, followed by last year’s worst division, the BSC, who also go 3-1. With the exception of Brady, low scores from X-IA
Division Overall W-L:
DD&B: 38-22
BSC: 34-26
CdS: 27-33
X-IA: 21-39
Nick picks winners, boys. Choosing his #1 draft pick in the MNQ, he goes 4 for 4, and is on top of the heap heading into Week 2, looking to go back-to-back years as the Pick ‘Em Champ.
Time to spend some waiver money!
