Week 2 brought the fewest 2-0 teams, and the fewest 0-2 teams in IFL history (2 each). Of course this also means we have the most 1-1 starts ever - 12 teams. The previous record was 10.

I'm going to take that to mean that this is going to be the most competitive season of the IFL ever. And after following this suspicion, indeed, the first two weeks of this season have the lowest standard deviation of any season at 20.4. In 2016, the number was 22.7. In 2015, the number was 27.4.

Translation? Closer and closer scores - the IFL is trending towards up in competitiveness.

Our Game of the Week had 6 lead changes, but Gustin pulled away in the late afternoon games, thanks to his lightning and thunder duo of Gordon and Ajayi, and Free Prison Mike never looked back. The Scallon Express suffered another injury mid-game, this time to his #1 pick, Jordan Howard. The extent of his injury is unknown, but it was enough to limit Howard to 0.70 pts. Gustin moves to 5-0 over division rival Scallon, winning 139.44 - 103.50.

Jordan makes the Coaches' Poll proud, getting off to an impressive 80 point lead over the Flaming Red Hot Gingers wrapping up the late afternoon games. The Gingers attempted to rally, but the Birds of WAR were in the driver seat the whole time, and won easily 153.96 - 120.70.

Curtis Guzman pulled his usual magic this week, going 8-8 against all Week 2 scores, but outscoring the one that counts, the team he's playing. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, Curtis all-time overall record is 287-279 (50.7%, but somehow his weekly win-loss record is 27-19 [58.7%]

Also at 2-0, the unpredictable Mr Ziemann with69 Kush Eunuchs do just fine without DJ. Wentz and Montgomery light it up for 55 combined pts, and despite a 30 pt performance from Duncan's Tom Brady, Nelson wins 131.52 - 120.78.

Cannot wait to see how things continue to unfold.

Complete reversal of last week's overall division standings, but as you'll note, very very close. There's a theme here.

Division Overall W-L:
BSC: 65-55
X-IA: 63-57
CdS: 57-63
DD&B: 55-65

Tricky Pick 'Em Polls in Week 2. Jesse, Chris, and Curtis did best with 3 out of 4, only falling prey to the Birds of War over the Gingers pick. Bravo.
