I don’t know about you guys, but I am still jacked from last night’s game. COME ON.
Of course, one of the best games in our lifetime was made all the better by insane simultaneous fantasy ongoings, including the largest and most improbable Monday night fantasy comeback I’ve ever seen.
In case you were passed out under a rock last night, let me set the stage for you. Curtis and god dang IFL STARS are down 43-90 to Jord and the Momma Cat. Curtis has Mahomes and Tyreek. Jord has Gurley and Woods. Forget the fact that Woods is a Top 10 WR, Gurley is the SCORING LEADER going into this game, and Jord is up 47 pts.
Now, you might imagine that in the shootout of the century, when the Rams and Chiefs combine for 1,000,000 points, Mahomes and Tyreek might manage a total of 80.3 points, but no one in their right mind would also imagine that Gurley and Woods would only put up 29.6 at the same time.
But that’s just what Curtis does. Despite 6 other teams averaging more points this season, Curtis defeats Jord this week 124-120, and now is tied for the best record in the league at 8-3, with Jord and Drew. Drew put the hammer on Brat10 this week, most points in the league style 178-134. Curtis; however, has managed to beat both of these guys, and so holds an all-important tiebreaker in the race for those top 2 seeds.
Curtis’s comeback kind of buried the fact the Chris pulled of an impressive comeback of his own, of the Doc, who started off down 31, and thanks to 55 combined points from Goff and the Chiefs DEF, which strangely worked out, Chris won easily 133-109 to remain in the hunt. The Doc; however, continues to lead the wildcard race and can still steal the DD&B division.
Joe got a big win over Jesse this week as well to keep himself in the running as well, and make the X-IA division race even more interesting. Hype Zone and Kirk’s Cousins are tied at 7-4 and Jesse holds the tiebreaker.
With Brat10 losing, he joins the ranks of the knocked-out-of-contention, along with Nick and John, who both suffered defeats this week. Nick to the back-and-rolling Hype Zone 140-165, and Scallon in a heartbreaker to TC, whose Stefon Diggs’s late heroics secured a comeback, 99-90.
And then there were 10.
CdS has a strong week overall, and and tightens the race for 2nd. BSC still hanging in there.
Division Overall W-L:
DD&B: 388-272
X-IA: 325-335
CdS: 321-339
BSC: 286-374
With two significant upsets, Joe over Jesse, and somehow, Curtis over Jord (I mean even Curtis didn’t pick himself), it was a rough week for the pickers, but the leader went 3 for 4, and extends his lead.
Even more crunch than the last’s week crunch time.
