The Curse of Nine strikes again! Drew picked a heck of a time to post his season low, when he could have entered eternal IFL legendry, but instead his normally solid Cooper, Godert, Davis and Stafford all combined for just 26 points. That isn’t to say that the epically dramatic Snyder Cut didn’t tease his latest victim, finishing with less than 2 points more than Drew’s (F) Shak, ultimately winning Coach Austin’s fifth straight game 86-84. Despite Drew’s embarrassing loss, he still remains in a tie in his division, and up three games on the nearest wildcard contender with 5 weeks remaining in the regular season. With Jesse ending his five game slide this week against X-IA rival Ewoldt, 120-111, both of their teams arrive at 3-6, which means that the Snyder Cut now enjoys a two game lead in their division.

The Curse of Nine, though still undefeated, will be tested again in Week 10, as the GROOVERS have now become the fifth team in league history to win eight straight games, easily besting division foe Badassmailman 123-90 this week. The thing about the GROOVERS win streak, is how much more impressive it is than Drew’s (F) Shak. The toughest score Coach Drew faced on his streak? 116.30 points. Coach Hunt had to overcome 150.67 points in Week 3 against Curtis. He has averaged 136.5 PPG during that time; whereas Drew only averaged 129.0 PPG during his streak. Clearly there is a superior team here. As the scheduling geniuses would have it, these two won’t meet until the final week of the regular season. Can’t wait.

The competition continues to be crushing in the DD&B, with Jack and the Technetium Tempest getting their fifth win of the season, JUST edging out Qualley and the Des Moines Football Team 115.28 - 144.88. Jord and the Real Slim Brady won easily over TC BEING SO WEID ABOUT IT 119-93, which puts Jack and Jord in a tie for the division, with Qualley one game back.

As close as that division as, the Cul-de-Sack is even wilder. Curtis wins this week, handily, over Scallon 133-88 despite losing the #1 player in the league, Derrick Henry. But with the Commish losing, and Nick losing to Joe 98-113, Curtis is given a one game lead at 6-3, but the entirety of the rest of the division now sits at 5-4. It will be a cut-throat fight to the bitter end for control of that one.

Dirty Doc and the Boys have a good week, as the Boy Scout Cyclones have a terrible week (nearly falling to last), and switch positions. The Cul-de-Sack extend their lead.

Jesse breaks the tie going 3 for 4 this week, as Drew and the Commish fall a pick behind.

Derrick Henry is the best player in football and the Titans just beat the best team in the league without him. The Jaguars made the Bills look incompetent. I love football, man.
