Though it seemed a long time coming, Week 10 brings our first deaths of the season. Coaches Drew and Hunt, both 2-8, are now eliminated from championship playoff contention. RIP, boys. Now they’ll desperately try to avoid the Tournament to Not Be Last, though things don’t look great for either of them.
Our game of the week was a good one, with the Barium Bunch coming back last night over the Pop Punk Pirates not from his stud WR A-Rob, but the #3 IDP player in the league, Roquan Smith, whose 28.75 points helped secure Jack a 154-140 win over Jesse. The win was a big one, as TC, who is tied for the DD&B division lead, picked up a win of his own over DD&B rival Qualley, 149-102, who was the only team to lose in the division this week. Jord, stays in contention for the division, winning his fourth straight game, and this week with the most points in the league, 184, absolutely CRUSHING the Scallon Express, who could only muster 98.25 points, the 4th lowest point total of the season.
The Bounty was finally transferred away from Aaron, as NOSCOPE TRENT, who literally doesn’t miss, domes him, 167-144, though his two game division lead remains intact with the Scallon loss. The win for NOSCOPE TRENT brings him to within one game of the Cul-de-Sack divisional lead, as Nick and Dumped by Hollie lose their 4th game of the season, in an upset to Hunt.
Remember when Hype Zone was 5-0? Well now he’s 5-5, after losing to Joe 138-156. If that’s not Hype personified, then tell me what is.
Brady was the 2nd team this week to pick up his 4th straight victory, knocking off Big Brother 160-131. Brady, now at 8-2, hasn’t yet won the division, but he’s 3 games up now with Jesse & Ewoldt losing, and Jesse would have to win out and Brady lose out for their to be any chance. Though both teams are very much alive for one of the two wildcard slots. Brady has averaged even more points than the fantasy freight train that Nick engineers over the last four weeks, 171 PPG to Nick’s 168 PPG, an impressive feat.
In fact, 14 of our 16 teams are still alive in one way or another, with just three weeks to go.
Cul-de-Sack extends their lead some more over X-IA as the Boy Scout Cyclones fall further behind.
Division Overall W-L:
CdS: 347-253
X-IA: 330-270
DD&B: 293-307
BSC: 230-370
In back to back weeks, we have another perfect picker, and it’s Qualley this week, who followed the consensus in all four polls. Jord, who only went 2 for 4, got leap-frogged by the PC, and now sits in a tie with Jack at 2nd.
Crunch time boys.
