Well gentlemen, Week 13 is about to get unbelievably lit. Take a look at the playoff hopefuls below.

2019 IFL Playoff Seed Foldy Sheetv3.jpg

This table was created by manually deliberating all 128 iterations of this week’s games. You may view the foldy sheet that shows all of these different scenarios here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iO1CuhTAYnDP4UQv8xtvsRAAoqKT4Yb_bl1sokwfFRg/edit?usp=sharing

As you’ll notice, despite both getting wins, Hunt & Brat10 do not appear to have a playoff path, assuming I played out all 128 scenarios accurately. They do get close in several scenarios, when it comes down to tiebreakers for various 7-6 teams for the final wildcard or two, but they lost to the wrong teams, and don’t appear to come out ahead in any of those scenarios. RIP Hunt & Brat10. You’re in prime position for the consolation tournament.

But even still, only one team has actually clinched a playoff spot and they are still 9 teams vying for the remaining 5 spots. It’s completely nutty. Last year going into Week 13, 4 teams had already clinched, and they were only 4 teams left to fight for the final 2. But as I’ve said before, as the league matures, the competition continues to heighten.

Let’s look at how we got here.

First, Big Brett’s Big Year beats the Scallon Express 115-96, while Curtis’s high speed explorer loses to Brady 85-121, which puts Joe & Nick in a tie for the division, and ordinarily might play a conference championship game, BUT the Bucknaked Bradys are still only a game back and should both Joe and Nick lose next week, since they own the tiebreaker against both of them, they would then take the division. So all 3 CdS teams are still alive for the division. In a perfect storm, if both Nick and Joe win, Nick would take the division, but Joe still has a sliver of wildcard opportunities if all the right people lose (4 out of the 44 scenarios where Nick and Joe both win to be exact.)

In Dirty Doc & The Boys, the Doc clutched one out against division leader Papa Jord’s 119-91, and TC’s runaway freight train of a team overwhelmed 3-2-1 SPIKE! 135-87, whose star Lamar Jackson is somehow closing in on CMC for the fantasy scoring leader. The loss for Jord and win for TC puts them at a tie at 8-4, with Jack one game back at 7-5. Crazily, just like the CdS, Jack holds the tiebreaker, and so if TC & Jord somehow both lose, Jack can still take the division, and not only that, but in a few scenarios (6 out of 128) that would even clinch him a bye week. Jord and TC, already at 8-wins, have the best odds at one of the remaining bye weeks spots, 31.25% & 56.25% respectively.

The Boy Scout Cyclones is the wildest of all the divisions though. Aaron’s fantasy D got demolished yet again, this time by Curtis, who is flying high the last couple weeks, 103-142. Brett’s Regrets got eeked out by the Handlebar Enthusiasts 118-116, and as we mentioned Scallon lost to Joe. That puts all 3 of those teams tied at 7-5, and depending on how Week 13 plays out, all 3 of them can either win the division, grab a wildcard or not make the playoffs at all. Aaron owns some crucial tiebreakers, so he makes the playoffs a few more times than the Andrew, and Andrew a few more times than John; however, only Andrew and John have bye week scenarios (10 out of 128 between them), Aaron has none.

Despite the loss to TC, with Jord also losing, Jesse has officially clinched a bye week, just a matter of which one, now that TC owns the tiebreaker on him. Congratulations, sir!

Here’s some bonus fun facts from the foldy sheet creation:

  • In 4 out of 128 scenarios all three remaining members of the BSC make the playoffs.

  • In 40 out of 128 scenarios, all three remaining members of the DD&B make the playoffs.

  • In 11 out of 128 scenarios, the wildcards come down to the 2nd tiebreaker, PPG, and that is of course subject to change based on Week 13 scores, so some teams must not only win, but win big.

  • If the games went the way they’re currently projected, the playoffs would like like this (Scenario 77):
    1) TC (9-4)
    2) Jesse (9-4)
    3) John (8-5)
    4) Joe (7-6)
    5) Jord (9-4)
    6) Drew (8-5)
    __
    7) Jack (8-5)
    8) Hunt (7-6)

3 Turkey Day games tomorrow, so we’ll learn a lot more about where we’re headed come Black Friday. Enjoy the holiday, gents.

Another big week from the Cul-de-Sack as they secure their 3rd place position. Dirty Doc & the Boys and the Boy Scout Cyclones are neck and neck heading into the final week.

Division Overall W-L:
DD&B: 408-312
BSC: 407-313
CdS: 347-373
X-IA: 297-423

In the all wagers on week, Nick goes 3 for 3, and jumps to a tie atop the leader boards with Curtis.
