Big doings in the IFL, with two divisions getting clinched, X-IA by the league’s definitive freight train, FULLY STOCKED, who completely steamrolled the Pop Punk Pirates 191-149. FULLY STOCKED, who are now 4 games up in the division, earn Brady his 3rd divisional title in 7 years, the most of any coach in the division (Ewoldt has 2, Jesse 1, & Hunt had 1 when he was in the division). Jesse is still alive for the wildcard, but with two weeks to go, and two games back, things are dire.
The other clincher, Aaron, clinched after defeating Drew this week, 151-142, his 2nd division win in the BSC, and only the 3rd time Drew has ever lost that division. Aaron’s team is pretty interesting, averaging just the 7th most in the league, he has the most consistent team, with a standard deviation of 12 points, which always leads to more wins than not if you’re above the average PPG of the league. Scallon, who was two games back, also picked up a win this week, but having lost the head-to-head matchup earlier this year to Aaron, will need a wildcard to make the playoffs. His win over Nick, 172-124, means that the CdS title is still on the menu to Curtis and yours truly.
Our Game of the Week, which according to the Doc, “WASN’T EVEN CLOSE”, clearly wasn’t, with the Barium Bunch making Tanos look elementary, 187-140, giving the Bunch a one game lead in the division. Meanwhile in the DD&B, Jord won his fifth straight game, and this week that earned him the Bounty off the head of the commish in a defense wins championships kind of game, 147-110. Jord clearly got very lucky lining up with Josh Allen’s bye week. Both Jord and TC sit one game back in the division behind Jack, and both currently hold the two wildcard spots, though with two weeks left either of them could still take the division title. Matter of fact, Qualley, who quietly picked up his 6th win of the season this week over Curtis, is still alive for the division title as he holds a couple of key tiebreakers over Jack and Jord.
Didn’t realize this until this week, but with how the tiebreakers play out, though Joe is two games back in the division, he is in fact eliminated from playoff contention along with Drew and Hunt. RIP brother.
Still though, 11 teams still vying for 4 playoff spots. Two division titles still in play. Things are about to get nutty this week.
The Cul-de-Sack has a particularly bad week as a division, and gives up the lead to once again to X-IA who just managed to not have a bad week. DD&B has a big collective outing, and closes the gap on #2.
Division Overall W-L:
X-IA: 366-394
CdS: 361-299
DD&B: 331-329
BSC: 262-398
Another good week for the consensus, but Jord and Jack both fall short of PC, and that gives them another game back, though still leading the next closest individuals, Nick and Qualley by 2 games.
Two weeks, two bricks.
