Not to overhype things, like Ewoldt is obviously prone to, but the Million Dollar Man is entering rarer and rarer territory. With his 153-120 win over Jord this week, he moves to 4-0, a feat accomplished by only 4 other coaches in the 16-team IFL era: Anton (2015), Brady (2016), Aaron (2017), and Jesse (2019). He does so quite convincingly too, with the 2nd most points scored through 4 weeks.
Brady is hot on his trail in the X-IA division; however, dismantling the other 3-0 team in the league this week, Jack’s Barium Bunch, 222-164, thanks to 125 points from Cook, Carson, Cooper, and Za’Darius Smith. Brady moves to 3-1, just a game back, and holds on to the Bounty for a 3rd straight week.
There was nearly another 3-1 team in X-IA, but Qualley’s Des Moines Football Team was able to claw their way back last night thanks to a Todd Gurley 20-burger, beating the Pop Punk Pirates 160-156, which brought both Jesse and Qualley to 2-2.
Drew falls further and further into the abyss, this week courtesy Nick, who edged him out 160-151. Curtis also won this week, despite scoring the 4th least points in the league this week, classic Curtis, and Nick and Curtis remain on top of the Cul-de-Sack at 3-1.
The Rhodes Bros Battle ended with yours truly getting his first win of the season, 180-169 over little Jo-Jo, who still can’t quite best his big bro. Thank god, too, because I was contemplating some twisted things before the clock struck 0:00 on last night’s Packers game.
Despite TC’s colossal Joe Mixon screwup, he beat A-Rich, 154-132, and climbs to 3-1, and now in a tie with the Barium Bunch at 3-1 atop the Dirty Doc & the Boys.
The Cul-de-Sack has a solid week, scoring the 2nd and 3rd most points this week, and extend their lead, while the Boy Scout Cyclones fall further behind.
Division Overall W-L:
CdS: 154-86
X-IA: 136-104
DD&B: 109-131
BSC: 81-159
3 for 4 is the best pickers can do this week, Brady, one of whom, climbs to 3rd. The big news this week, is that the Pickers’ Consensus takes the lead for the first time since we’ve introduced it. No one individual is better than all of us, at least for this week.
Ewoldt’s 4-0, Drew’s 0-4. Everything is fine.
