As Brady feared, “the monster of his own creation”, Nick and Dumped by Hollie, the OG 2020 freight train, proved to be too monstrous and its furnace shoveled with too much coal for FULLY STOCKED this weekend. Nick’s Cardinals Stack™ (Murray, Edmonds, and Hopkins), which had been struggling to close out the season turned it on against the Eagles defense and combined for 76.74 points, and with another 56 from Aaron Jones and Calvin Ridley, Brady’s descent 173 point effort, which is also his average point per game for the season, was just not the exceptional game he needed to keep up with Nick’s 200 point masterclass. FULLY STOCKED was hurt by his #3 & #5 scorers for the season, Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper only combining for 3.9 points. Brady’s loss is significant, as it represents only the 2nd time in IFL history that the #1 seed doesn’t make it to the IFL Championship. The other time that happened? IFL Year 1, 2014, when the #4 seed No Romo, upset Drew’s regular season champs, the #1 seed Horsetown Naysayers 131-108. For you youngins, who don’t know yet know your history, that No Romo team was also coached by jolly ol’ saint Nickolas.
On the other side of the bracket, the Doc versus the Mailman, appeared to be a close one in the early games, but after a last second CeeDee Lamb onside kick return for a tuddy, a Tony Pollard that just wouldn’t quit, and a signature Patty Mahomes performance, by the end of the late window games, it was evident that the Barium Bunch would be returning to their second IFL Superbowl appearance, beating Aaron, 185-149. Aaron had disappointing outputs from Kareem Hunt, Christian Kirk, and T.J. Hockenson, and his loss is monumental, in that he was our last remaining hope at denying an IFL coach from being the first to enter the Two Ring Club. In 2020, the United States Postal Service takes yet another “L”.

The IFL Losership wasn’t at all close, as Drew’s team uncharacteristically went off, putting up 170 points, and drowning Hunt in a frozen river, who could only muster 122 points this week. Hunt now owns the displeasure of being the IFL Loser of the Year for a second time. A witness claims to have spotted him updating his passport yesterday, which is understandable, given what has to be an undeniably tough place to be in. Vote on his punishment to be posted soon.
The Super Consolation Championship game, Jesse vs Curtis, was also not close, with the Pop Punk Pirates patching up all their sails, ramrodding the Outlaw Soldier’s rinky dink skiff, and blasting him with a firing squad of blunderbusses. The Pop Punk Pirates finished with 182 points and the Outlaw Soldier with 110 points. With the win, Jesse earns 2nd best draft odds for the 2021 draft, a position you know he’ll use as a catapult for contention next season.
Brady, Nick and Curtis go 3 for 4 in a tough week of pick ‘em, and are now 1, 2 & 3, respectively. Brady gets within a half point of the consensus.
