Week 3 is the week of the backups. Daniel Jones, Kyle Allen, Garner Minshew, and Teddy Bridgewater go 4-0 this week, and help the IFL get back to its high scoring ways, averaging 126 PPG as a league, 11 more than last week.
Kyle Allen opened things up for the Panthers, and McCaffrey came back with a vengeance in Week 3, posting 28 points and along with another 94 from Wentz, Cooper, Hooper, and Shepard, propelled the Scallon Express into the stratosphere with 184 points, dominating an actually great performance from Curtis’s boys, who put up 149. 184 is the most points by any team so far this season and by a wide margin, no other team has even breached the 160s.
Daniel Jones had an epic foray into the NFL against the Bucs, and Saquon Barkley would have had a similar benefit for TC had he not sprained his ankle, but he snuck away with the victory, regardless, over Drew (thank God) 113 - 111, thanks to 22 from Lamar Jackson, and decent performance from Ekeler, Sanders, and the Vikings DST, which trumps quiet days from Golladay and Mark Andrews for Brett’s Regrets. Drew falls to 2-1, and ties the Scallon Express, and Nelson, who could have won this week with just Kamara and Rodgers (49 pts) over Tony’s 10-player 45.27 points (an all-time IFL low), which is actually crazy impressive the more you look at it. He had 4 players that scored less than 3 points, but none of whom scored 0. At 0-3, Tony is really going after worst coach in the league after having it stolen from him by Brady last year.
Hunt is the only team not 2-1 in the BSC, but gets his first win since his hiatus, and it’s a clutch one, thanks to 42.34 garbage time points from Russell Wilson, which put him up 132 - 129 over the BRADYTRAIN🚂. Brady is tied for the most PPG in the league, but is 1-2 thanks to a pair of heartbreakers in Week 1 & 3. He falls two games back in X-IA, with 3-2-1 SPIKE! peaking in Week 3, 141 - 86 over Nick’s 2-0 squad, in large part thanks to the newly acquired Mike Evans and his 3 TDs in the first half of the Giants game. Jesse is coming after that first X-IA title hard this year, and with the other 3 teams a combined 1-8, he’s got a real shot.
The Hype Zone can’t keep it up in MNF, as Terry was a little bit too Scary for Papa, and falls to 0-3 after playing the hardest schedule in the league through 3 weeks. Jord moves to 2-1, with 30 from Kupp, 24 from Waller, and 21 from Brissett. He joins Jack and Brat10 at 2-1 in the DD&B behind the 3-0 TC. Jack, made that the case after beating Brat10 handily 133 - 90, thanks to a Benjamin from Watson, Cook, McCoy and the Bears DEF. Brat10 finally pays for his reach of Mahomes, who got his 30 from Patrick, but paid for it everywhere else.
Some nice symmetry in the divisional standings, but no movement. DD&B still on top.
Division Overall W-L:
DD&B: 100-80
BSC: 93-87
CdS: 87-93
X-IA: 80-100
The Doctor manages to go perfect this week, and jumps up into the top 5, but the top 3 hold steady, with the 2018 Pick ‘Em Champ still on top.
Let’s get it, boys.
